Sustainable/Drought Tolerant Landscaping

Why should you replace your lawn?

Lawn grasses are the most resource intensive, non-sustainable plants in our gardens. What else needs to be fertilized monthly, watered several times a week year-round and pruned weekly with power tools?

Going drought tolerant reduces maintenance, reduces your carbon footprint, and even reduces your monthly bills. But the best reason to go drought tolerant is to conserve our most vital resource, water!

Using less water is a great way to cut your water bill - while also offering you the benefits of a longer and lasting, natural landscape design.

Our services include design and installation of drought tolerant gardens, rain gardens, pollinator gardens, and automated drip irrigation systems.

What is a "Rain Garden"?

A rain garden is a shallow depression that is planted with deep-rooted native plants and grasses. The garden is positioned near a run-off source like a downspout, driveway or slope to capture rainwater runoff and stop the water from reaching the sewer system.

Pollinator Garden:

Birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other small mammals that pollinate plants are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food. They also sustain our ecosystems and produce natural resources by helping plants reproduce. Without the actions of pollinators agricultural economies, our food supply, and surrounding landscapes would collapse.

Providing patches of flowers is one thing we can do to improve the environment for pollinators. Creating foraging habitat not only helps the bees, butterflies and hummingbords that pollinate these plants, but also results in beautiful, appealing landscapes.
